Dan Manolescu holds a Master of Law (LLM) with specialization in Law and Technology, a Master of Arts with a focus on Internet regulations and cybercrime, and a Bachelor of Law degree (LLB).
Dan has working experience with the European Commission and the European Parliament.
Dan co-authored the Beyond Data Protection book (Springer 2013), under the “Data Protection Enforcement:The European Experience – Case Law” chapter.
Curentely, Dan is working for the European Commission, Secretariat-General, Data Protection Officer’s office.
Dan is experienced in:
– Notification and documentation for personal data processing, transfer, compliance (to/with the National Data Protection Authorities);
– Legal mechanisms for the cross-border transfers of personal data (e.g. Safe Harbour, Contracts, BCR);
– Privacy Impact Assessment (conducting and reviewing);
